Marriage & relationship coaching

When something
has to change.

You may have talked about the same problem dozens of times and still feel no closer to solving it.

Marriage and relationship coaching can help you step outside the conflict, understand what is happening beneath it and develop practical ways of responding differently.

You can come together.
You can also come alone.

You do not both have to be ready

You can begin even if your spouse isn’t ready.

Marriage involves two people, but your own growth does not have to wait until your spouse agrees to participate. One spouse can come for coaching alone.

We can help you recognise patterns, understand what belongs to you and what does not, and develop skills for responding more wisely. That may mean changing your own reactions, identifying boundaries or learning how to deal with difficult behaviour without taking responsibility for another person’s choices.

One person can begin to change how they participate in the relationship. That does not give them control over the other person or guarantee that the marriage will survive.

What we help you see

More than
the latest argument.

We look for patterns that repeat: what happens before conflict escalates, the assumptions each person makes, and the triggers or old hurt influencing present reactions. Sometimes the missing piece is a skill neither person has had the chance to learn.

We ask questions to clarify the picture and may challenge assumptions that keep you stuck. We look at responsibility, behaviour you may be accepting unnecessarily and boundaries where appropriate. The work can include practising another way of responding, so that understanding has somewhere practical to go.

Christian faith and practical skills

Our coaching is grounded in a Christian understanding of marriage, personal responsibility, forgiveness, wisdom, truth, grace and restoration. We do not believe prayer and practical relationship skills compete with one another. The introductory conversation is a place to ask how this foundation shapes our approach.

How coaching works

A clear next step.
Room to understand.

  1. Enquire

Tell us a little about what’s happening in your marriage and the help you’re looking for. Include your time zone and suggest two or three dates and times for a free 20-minute introductory conversation. You don’t need to share your whole story, and you can tell us how to contact you safely.

  2. Meet for an introduction

A free 20-minute online conversation, normally with one of us, lets you ask about the approach and consider whether a full coaching session seems appropriate.

  3. Agree the next step

We agree who should attend, whether Henk, Linda or both should coach, the format, date and time, and the applicable fee. We provide the coaching agreement before invoicing and payment, then confirm the appointment once payment is received.

  4. Make room for the work

An extended appointment gives us two hours to listen, understand each person’s perspective and explore the patterns that keep recurring. There is room to consider practical next steps without rushing to conclusions.

  5. Decide what is useful next

Further coaching is your choice. Sometimes it helps to meet together; sometimes individual sessions are more appropriate. We agree whether Henk, Linda or both will coach, and may suggest practical exercises or next steps. There is no compulsory package.

Between appointments, communication is normally for scheduling or brief clarification agreed with your coach. Email and WhatsApp are not an unlimited extension of the coaching session.

The people doing the work

Henk, Linda
or both?

We may coach together, but every appointment does not automatically include both of us. Depending on your enquiry and what becomes clear during the work, one coach may be more appropriate for a particular session or follow-up. We agree that with you.

What Henk brings

Henk brings pattern recognition, one-to-one relationship work and the marriage restoration perspective behind his book, How to Save Your Marriage. His focus includes understanding and practically interrupting destructive cycles.

What Linda brings

Linda knows what it is like to be the spouse who has lost hope, to stop wanting to try and to love someone who still needs healing. She brings that perspective alongside family and parenting experience, including her work as an Evergreen Parenting facilitator.

Online or in person

Wherever you are,
begin with an enquiry.

Online coaching is available regardless of location, subject to mutual scheduling. In-person sessions are available locally by arrangement. Exact meeting details are provided privately after booking.

Suggest two or three dates or time windows for your free introductory conversation, along with your time zone. This helps us find a time that works for everyone.

A few things to know

Clear expectations.
Honest work.

Coaching is a collaborative process. We can help you identify patterns, understand what may be happening beneath the conflict and develop practical ways forward, but no particular outcome can be guaranteed. Progress depends on what each person is willing and able to recognise, learn and put into practice.

We work with the information available to us. The more open and accurate the picture we are given, the more effectively we can help you understand what may be happening. Sometimes important pieces only become clear over time.

How we handle private conversations

Henk and Linda work as a coaching team. Information shared with either of us may therefore be discussed between us where it is relevant to your coaching. It is not automatically shared with your spouse.

If there is something you do not want shared with your spouse, please tell us clearly when you share it so that we can agree how it should be handled. Some disclosures may affect whether joint coaching can continue appropriately; absolute secrecy cannot be promised.

Marriage Coaching is provided and invoiced by Henk Kruger trading as Marriage Rescue 911. Linda remains part of the coaching team.

Coaching scope

This is practical relationship coaching, not psychotherapy, psychiatric or medical care, legal advice or emergency intervention. Where there is violence, coercive control, immediate danger or serious risk, appropriate specialist or local emergency support takes priority over ordinary marriage coaching. If something emerges that would be better handled by a specialist, we will say so and may recommend that you seek appropriate professional support.
